Do I need an electrician to install smart downlights?

For plug-and-play replacement: No electrician needed if you have existing base plug in ceiling. For new installations and replacement of hardwired lights: Licensed electrician required under Australian electrical standards (AS/NZS 3000).

What's the difference between 70mm and 90mm downlights?

The 90mm and 70mm refers to the diameter of the ceiling hole cutout that the downlight is installed in. 90mm is the industry standard size in Australia, while 70mm is perfect for retrofitting older halogen GU10 type downlights or where a smaller size light is preferred for specific design requirements.

How many downlights do I need per room?

Generally 1 downlight per 2-3 square meters. Our 14-pack builder kits are perfect for large living areas or multiple rooms.

Are EyZEE® downlights compatible with existing dimmers?

Yes! EyZEE® smart downlights can be dimmed via the app/voice control, but can also be dimmed using a trailing edge dimmer like our EyZEE® smart dimmer or most existing dimmers should work. You can also create an automation in the app so the lights automatically dim at preset times when turned on - perfect for evening routines or movie nights.
