Breakthrough Power Decoupling Technology
The EyZEE® Decouplar™ represents a quantum leap in smart home technology. By separating power delivery from Zigbee switch control, your smart lights remain connected and responsive while switches operate naturally.
Revolutionary Decouplar™ Benefits
How Power Decoupling Actually Works
Traditional switches cut power completely - breaking your smart lighting network and forcing your smart lights offline.
The Decouplar™ maintains continuous power to smart devices while sending Zigbee control commands. Your lights respond to the switch naturally as a wall touch switch, but never lose connection.
Result: Perfect smart home automation that family and guests can use intuitively. Free Zigbee hub included!
Advanced Decoupling Features
Per-Button Decoupling Configuration
Configure each button independently - some decoupled for smart lights, others coupled for fans or regular lights. Total flexibility. Download Instructions
Smart Network Preservation
Maintains Zigbee mesh integrity by keeping smart devices powered and connected, ensuring reliable automation performance.
Intelligent Command Routing
Sends precise Zigbee commands to target devices while maintaining power flow. See decoupling in action
LED Backlight & Decoupling Feedback
Features the same four LED backlight options as standard EyZEE® switches (blue, red, pink, off) - customize to your preference or turn off for sleep. LEDs flash during decoupling mode setup. Once configured, you'll hear an audible click in coupled mode, silent operation in decoupled mode for instant feedback on switch behaviour.
Premium Glass Faceplate Design
Features the same elegant tempered glass faceplate as standard EyZEE® switches allowing you to mix and match Decouplar™ and standard switches throughout your home while maintaining a consistent, sophisticated aesthetic. Available in White gloss, Black gloss, and White with Silver trim finishes with more styles coming soon.

EyZEE® Decouplar™ Switch - Frequently Asked Questions
Great question! The difference between our regular EyZEE® touch switches and the Decouplar™ is all about how they work with smart lights.
Regular EyZEE® switches: When you turn the switch OFF, it cuts power to the light completely. Your smart light goes offline from the Zigbee network.
EyZEE® Decouplar™ switches: These can operate in two modes:
- Coupled Mode (default): Works exactly like a regular switch - cuts power when turned off
- Decoupled Mode: Keeps power flowing to your smart lights while handing control over to the Zigbee network
In Decoupled Mode, your smart lights stay online and connected to your Zigbee network 24/7, which means your automations work seamlessly and your mesh network stays rock-solid.
You'll love the Decouplar™ anywhere you're using light switches to control Zigbee smart lights, especially if you want to run automations like:
- Motion sensor lighting: Lights turn on automatically when you enter a room
- Time-based automations: Lights adjust color and brightness throughout the day
- Scene control: "Movie night" or "dinner time" lighting that activates instantly
- Smart home integration: Lights that respond to other smart devices
The key benefit? Your automations run without having to first turn the physical switch on - because the smart light is already powered and ready to respond.
The Decouplar™ was designed for Zigbee networks, but it's surprisingly flexible! It works with any smart light provided the Zigbee switch connects to the same network or app as your lights.
Examples:
- EyZEE® smart downlights (perfect match!)
- Philips Hue lights
- Other Zigbee smart lights
- Even WiFi smart lights - if both your Decouplar™ switch and WiFi lights are on the same app (like SmartLife)
- Home Assistant users - works across different protocols
Not at all! Installation is exactly the same as our regular EyZEE® switches:
- Licensed electrician required (as always)
- Same wiring process - requires a neutral
- Identical appearance - you can mix and match with regular EyZEE® switches throughout your home
Beyond keeping your lights online, there's a huge network advantage: stronger mesh networks.
When your smart lights stay powered, they act as Zigbee forwarding routers, creating a much more stable and reliable mesh network throughout your home. This means better connectivity for all your smart devices.
Not necessarily! Here's when you DON'T need them:
- Regular (non-smart) lights
- Ceiling fans
- Bathroom heaters or exhaust fans
- Any non-smart electrical devices
Here's the clever part: On multi-gang switches (2, 3, or 4-gang), you can choose which buttons are coupled or decoupled.
Example: In a bathroom, you might:
- Decouple the smart downlight button
- Keep coupled the exhaust fan and heater buttons
This gives you the perfect mix of smart automation and traditional control!
Currently available: 1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang, and 4-gang Decouplar™ switches
Coming November 2025: 5-gang and 6-gang options
Easy! Just listen:
- Coupled Mode: You'll hear a distinct "click" when you touch the switch
- Decoupled Mode: Silent operation - no clicking sounds
Yes! The switches come with a simple programming sequence you can do yourself (no electrician needed for mode changes). Each switch includes detailed instructions, and we have YouTube tutorials to walk you through it step-by-step.
